Fishing for Father's Day
This month I had the great pleasure of getting off the grid with my dad for a few days on a fly-fishing trip in Shasta and Lassen counties. While I didn't have my camera on the water much, I still found a bit of time to fire off some shots before and after fishing sessions.

A "Big Day" is a common exercise in the birding community, in which a birder attempts to see as many distinct species as possible in one 24 hour period. On May 2nd, 2018, I executed a Big Day in several locations around Monterey Bay and came up with 85 species from sunup to sundown, including this Barn Owl chick!
